Marie's Glassworks

Glass fusing is so exciting and the results are endless! With the advent of home-based glass kilns, glass artists are pushing the boundaries of fusing to new heights! New techniques and new components are coming out all the time. Marie loves the uncertainty of the glass as a medium along with temperature effects on the glass and firing in kilns to achieve the results.

Marie's expressions in glass have come a long way since the beginning! Texture and transparency are so exciting! She loves the effects that can be achieved using glass as the medium! New components are always available to glass artists which provides the challenge!

Her artistic vision and superb craftsmanship extends across a vast range of forms: Wall hangings, bowls, plates, platters, clocks, pocket vases, Christmas ornaments, self-standing curved glass and jewelry.

I work closely with our local arts center in Reading called ‘The Goggleworks’ (www.goggleworks.org). This organization and arts center provides unique experiences for all levels/types of artists and visitors in a series of industrial buildings. It is the largest interactive art center of its kind in the USA! I have been a teacher there for several years, working largely with adult students and I collaborate with other glass fusers like myself and use their expansive group of tools kilns, and machinery to achieve desired results.
